Senior Financial Analyst

In 2020 North Toronto Eye Care (NTEC) merged with Prism Eye Institute, to form Prism Group Holdings (Prism) and the largest Ophthalmology practice in Canada. Prism is an internationally renowned institute with 5 facilities and 2 surgical centres, together they serve over 200,000 patients and perform 10,000 surgeries each year. Prism is a centre of excellence providing a full spectrum of eye care and recognized for handling some of the most complex eye diseases in the world. Prism is currently looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our amazing team.

Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable and Deferred Revenue:

  • Ability to prepare invoices for doctors based on established price lists with a fine attention to detail
  • Posting invoices to accounting software on a monthly basis.
  • Preparing monthly schedule with accrued rebates in order to ensure revenues are calculated in accordance with ASPE.
  • Working with the Director of Research to ensure revenue is recognized as earned for research activities.
  • Preparing monthly analysis of billing activity across all entities for Director of Finance.

Moneris Reconciliation & Deposit Summaries:

  • Reconcile cash reconciliations to EMR system on a weekly basis.
  • Prepare schedule to show outstanding deposits as of month end.

Record Keeping

  • Record monthly payroll entries based on employee groupings on a monthly basis.
  • Record monthly entries for companies within the organization that do not need day to day bookkeeping.
  • Record monthly optical entries into Quickbooks.
  • Record monthly accrual and capital asset entries.

Month-end:

  • Prepare monthly budget to actual excel file with analysis on variances.
  • Prepare month end reconciliation schedules for balance sheet accounts.
  • Provide month end package to Director of Finance for review.

Qualifications

  • 2 + years of relevant exerience
  • Application of ASPE (Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises)
  • VLookups and Pivot Tables in Microsoft Excel
  • Working knowledge of Quickbooks or Sage50
  • Ability to prepare and review month end reconciliations
  • Budgeting, forecasting, and variances analysis
  • CPA or student is an asset, but not a requirement
  • Good understanding of accounting principles (Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises)
  • Quick learner and problem solving ability to learn the healthcare industry.
  • Self-reliant with the ability to work independently
  • Familiar with accounting software applications, QuickBooks
  • Level of ability needed with Microsoft Excel is Intermediate (VLookups, Pivot Tables)
  • Good understanding of HST, EHT, WSIB and Payroll taxes is an asset
  • Must be bondable and pass a background check
  • Attendance to regular hours of work in a reliable and punctual manner

Level of Authority

Work will be performed independently following established policies and procedures. The role will be reporting to the Director of Finance. There will be a level of indirect supervising of the accounting coordinator and bookkeeper supporting them in their month end close reconciliations and day to day accounting.

Work Environment

Fast paced environment with deadline requirements. Management fee to be calculated and communicated to stakeholders within the terms specific to the various companies we deal with each month. Month end to be prepared in a timely manner in order to keep up with the reporting demands of a growing company. This role would be a hybrid work from home and in-office role with the office being in Brampton.

Salary: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
