COVID 19 Precautions at Prism

At Prism, your health and safety is very important to us and we are taking every measures to ensure you, our staff and our community are safe. Below are some of the steps we are taking to minimize risk and reduce the spread of infection while maintaining the best attitude, morale and care in full spectrum eye care services:

  • We have implemented temperature screening stations at all our clinics to ensure patients and staff are not feverish.
  • Acrylic barrier screens have been installed at key touch points like check in/out, on our slit lamps and some of testing equipment.
  • We have sectioned off waiting areas to ensure proper social distancing.
  • We have implemented and continuously monitor rigorous cleaning processes for every inch of our clinics – not just our patient contact areas and testing equipment.
  • All staff and patients must wear face masks in clinic and use hand sanitizer.
  • We have provided personal protective equipment for all of our staff.
  • Changed policies and procedures for staff that enhance infection control practices and reduce the risk of spreading any virus, bacteria or disease – not just COVID-19.
  • We have developed a virtual care platform that is used whenever possible (some patients may not qualify based on acuity, disease process and prognosis).
  • We have developed an online check-in portal to reduce the time patients need to spend in our clinics.
  • We continually monitor COVID-19 progress of municipal, college and provincial guidelines to ensure we are meeting, or in most cases, exceeding all recommendations.
  • We are experiencing unusually high call volumes related to COVID-19.To ensure your needs are addressed in a timely fashion, Prism will be upgrading its phone system over the next ten days. Please bear with us as we make all efforts to serve you better.
