Career Opportunities for Call Centre Specialists

This position is remote but will require in person training and an occasional day in office at our Brampton location.

Prism Eye Institute (PEI) has been serving the communities of North York, Brampton, Oakville/Mississauga and surrounding areas for over 50 years.

In 2020 North Toronto Eye Care (NTEC) merged with Prism Eye Institute, to form Prism Group Holdings (Prism) and the largest Ophthalmology practice in Canada.

In 2022, PEI further strengthened a partnership with Vision Group Canada (VGC) and is working to expand its footprint nationally. VGC operates over 50 clinics and 70 surgical facilities performing over 100,000 procedures annually.

PEI is an internationally renowned institute with 5 facilities and 2 surgical centres, serving over 200,000 patients and perform 10,000 surgeries each year. Prism is a centre of excellence providing a full spectrum of eye care and recognized for handling some of the most complex eye diseases in the world.

Tasks:

  • Responding to phone, website portal, and email inquiries as per patient needs
  • Rescheduling and booking appointments and referrals with the appropriate testing and doctor-specific protocols
  • Informing patients about the rationale, function, and cost of both insured and non-insured testing
  • Documenting/logging all call information on the EMR according to standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Liaising with other teams to book appointments/testing, if required
  • Responding to email/Oscar messages from patients and other departments in a timely manner
  • Responding to queries from referring offices, pharmacies and hospitals
  • Receiving and faxing reports to referring offices

What You Bring

  • Knowledge of medical terminology is an asset.
  • Experience in a call centre is an asset.
  • Resourcefulness and a strong attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using software and computers.
  • Flourishing in fast-paced environments.
  • An ability to adapt quickly to changes.
